The naturalness of finished products begins at the production stage.

In livestock farming, demedication approaches aimed at limiting or even eliminating the use of antibiotics and GMO-free animal nutrition are at the heart of our challenges.

Agrial’s pork sector is thus deploying its demedication (by reducing antibiotics to the minimum necessary on veterinary advice) and non-GMO feed approaches with 90 and 88 committed farmers respectively.

In this context, the Co-operative has set itself the objective of increasing by 50% the volumes of feed sold without GMOs and antibiotics in the cattle, goat and horse sectors between 2018 and 2025. One third of the target had already been reached by the end of 2020.

The “Porc Cristal” chain, where the ambition is to raise pigs without antibiotics from birth

Initiated in 2018, Agrial’s “Porc Cristal” chain is supported by some twenty members of the Pig FO, who are committed to raising pigs without antibiotics from birth. In the Meat division’s charcuterie activities, this chain is found on 4 products under the Brient brand: superior cooked ham, superior cooked pork roast, old-fashioned liver mousse and old-fashioned country pâté. Differentiating for the consumer and enhancing the producer’s value, this chain has aroused the interest of the industry’s customers and has also made it possible to develop and has also made it possible to develop solid partnerships around thematic distributor brands.

And in the Poultry Group…

France is engaged in its second Ecoantibio plan to fight against antibiotic resistance. This is a major global public health challenge. The loss of antibiotic effectiveness impacts human health, animal health and ecosystems. Agrial’s Poultry Group has developed an alternative range based on essential oils for broilers and laying hens.
