Sophia Antipolis, 10/10/23 – TSE, a producer and developer of solar energy in France, and Agrial, a French agricultural and agri-food co-operative, announce the signing of an electricity supply contract, a *Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) for 31 MWp of solar energy over a 20-year period.
The contract is based on the purchase of electricity produced by two TSE solar power plants:
- A plant in Haute-Marne (in the Great East French region) with a capacity of almost 25 MWp, scheduled to come on stream at the end of 2024.
- A 6 MWp area in La Manche (Normandy), scheduled for commissioning in 2027.
Both plants will be installed on degraded non-agricultural land. The contract, with a total capacity of almost 31 MWp, will enable annual production of around 36 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of a town of 15,000 inhabitants.
This supply of low-carbon electricity is in line with Agrial’s 2035 Climate Plan, which aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50 % and will account for between 10 and 15 % of the Co-operative’s French electricity consumption. In addition to sobriety measures and structural investment projects, the supply of green energy, and French energy in particular, is one of the pillars of Agrial’s approach to the climate.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of this new CPPA and we would like to thank Agrial for its confidence. With this 3rd CPPA signed in just a few months, TSE is demonstrating its position as a key player in solar energy,” says Mathieu Debonnet, Chief Executive Officer of TSE.
