The GAEC Sainte-Barbe in Marigné-Peuton (Pays de la Loire region) and the GAEC des Papineaux in Vieux (Normandy) have been preparing their farms for two years.
Planting of test plots, changes in practices, installation or use of new equipment…
Everything was ready to offer each workshop the technical and factual results implemented since 2019 and over the last year 2021. For example, the GAEC des Papineaux set up a micro-methanisation system in 2020. Combined with photovoltaic panels on one of the buildings, the site is said to be “energy positive”.
The GAEC Sainte-Barbe has invested in new equipment, particularly for its orchards.
30 workshops divided into five areas were offered to members during the ‘Wide Angle’ Days: animal production and nutrition, plant production, agricultural equipment and distribution, agricultural equipment, services and support…
It was a great idea to open to the general public on Saturdays; 4,000 visitors responded to Agrial’s invitation.
Families, friends, children and adults arrived as soon as the farm opened on Saturdays to visit the farms.
Thank you to the employees and also to the members who showed their pedagogy and imagination to draw attention to their workshop. They spoke passionately about their work, their daily lives, their commitment and the challenges facing agriculture today.
